Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Flin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abbas Shahriari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Flin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Abbas Shahriari!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shahriari dives in and scores a takedown into Flin's guard.
Shahriari stays in close to Flin's body and controls the position.

Shahriari gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Flin checks a leg kick nicely.
Flin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Shahriari closes the distance and clinches.

Shahriari has clasped his hands together around Flin's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Shahriari has knee on belly and moves into mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Don Flin has been cut.
Flin is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Shahriari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shahriari is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Flin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Flin reaches up to try and control the position but Shahriari seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Flin rolls and tries to escape and now Shahriari has his back!

Shahriari looking to break Flin's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Flin remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Shahriari will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Shahriari is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Flin is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Shahriari.
Shahriari's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Shahriari is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Shahriari gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Shahriari gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Shahriari apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Flin fails with an attempt to clinch.

Flin shoots in for a takedown but Shahriari shows good takedown defense.
Flin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shahriari sprawls well. Shahriari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Flin gets slowly back to his feet.
Shahriari tries to land a front kick but Flin steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Flin is looking to regain half guard here but Shahriari keeps moving and retains side control.
Shahriari is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shahriari remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Shahriari thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Shahriari manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Shahriari has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Flin regains guard immediately.
Flin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Shahriari decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Flin fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Don Flin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown attempt by Flin or perhaps it was just good defense by Shahriari, which made it look bad.
Flin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shahriari's waist but Shahriari gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flin off to one side.
And Shahriari tries to counter it with a takedown but Flin pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Shahriari closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shahriari lands in his opponent's guard.
Flin wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Shahriari manages to pass to side control.

Flin wants to improve his position but Shahriari is controlling well.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shahriari connects with a nice short shot to Flin's temple.
Shahriari content to control rather than advance.

Abbas Shahriari showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Flin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Shahriari closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Shahriari has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Flin misses with a takedown attempt - Shahriari sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Shahriari shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Flin's guard.

Flin takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Shahriari throws a hook but Flin blocks it.

Shahriari displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Flin.
Shahriari throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Flin lands a front kick.
Flin tries to close the distance and clinch but Shahriari swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Shahriari changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Flin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Shahriari is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Flin can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Don Flin's cut is getting worse.

Shahriari stands up from mount. Strange move.
Oh Flin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Shahriari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shahriari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Shahriari stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shahriari is standing up over Flin. Flin looks to escape but Shahriari dives into side control.
Shahriari has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Flin takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Flin is being controlled here.
Flin seems to have got his legs back now.
Shahriari creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Flin is trying to work for a sweep but Shahriari has mounted him!

Shahriari has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Shahriari postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Flin looks a forlorn figure.
Don Flin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Abbas Shahriari is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Shahriari has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
