Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jere Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Suarez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Suarez!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suarez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hudson is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Suarez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hudson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hudson stands and steps away. Suarez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Suarez gets tackled into the cage by Hudson. Hudson maintains the clinch.

Hudson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Suarez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hudson to the mat. Hudson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Hudson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Suarez closes the distance and clinches.
Suarez has a couple of punches blocked by Hudson.

Hudson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Suarez smiles and moves away.

Hudson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hudson showed some decent athleticism there.

Hudson escapes and gets back to his feet.

Hudson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jere Hudson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Hudson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Carlos Suarez seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Hudson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Suarez has clasped his hands together around Hudson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carlos Suarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suarez leaves Hudson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Suarez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hudson swings wildly with an uppercut but Suarez uses good head movement to avoid it.
The referee is keeping an eye on Suarez - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Suarez is pressed up against the cage. Hudson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Suarez down to the mat. Suarez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Suarez pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Suarez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Hudson is looking to control Suarez's arms but Suarez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hudson has his back to the cage.
