PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kapua Francisco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Long An San (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Francisco comes to the cage accompanied by Pantera - Slaughtered . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Long An San!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Francisco forces San back against the cage and clinches.
A short body shot lands from Francisco as the two fighters clinch.

Francisco pulls guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Francisco is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Francisco's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Francisco won't allow San to get back to his feet.
Francisco stands up over San, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
San is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Francisco postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
San really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Francisco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Francisco controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Francisco will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

San is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

San on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Francisco lands a nice forearm strike.

San takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The referee asks Francisco politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Francisco prefers to stall for the moment though.

San should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Francisco is trying to get an arm triangle but San is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Francisco is staying tight to San's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Francisco landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Francisco is chipping away with strikes.
Francisco lands a few punches from side control.
Francisco slows the pace down.

Francisco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Francisco staying calm.

Francisco is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. San looks calm but he's in trouble here. Francisco gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. San is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Francisco lets go of the hold and San can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Kapua Francisco!
