Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Larith Shun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boris Em (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Em has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shun drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Em looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Shun gets to his feet. Em looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Shun shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shun was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Em tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shun wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Shun decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Larith Shun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shun feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Em looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shun passes into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shun throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Em was covering up waiting for the punch and Shun finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Shun stands and steps away. Em gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Em working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shun doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shun manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Shun decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Em, up you get!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Em enables Shun to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Em manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Shun gets to his feet. Em looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Em has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shun is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Shun shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Em is trying to defend but Shun finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Shun escapes and gets back to his feet.
Shun manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Em on his heels. He'll look to pass Em's guard now, I'm sure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Em is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Shun has his hands clasped together but Em extends and breaks Shun's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Em.
