PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Cambridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ulysses Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Cambridge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ulysses Grant!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grant on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Grant slips under a jab from Cambridge.

Grant has taken the fight to the clinch.

Grant scores with a jab. Cambridge acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Grant's coach down at Kung Fu Fighting Club ($299 entry fee) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Grant's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Grant moves into the clinch.
Cambridge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Cambridge is looking to break free of the clinch but Grant has double underhooks.
Grant stops a takedown attempt from Cambridge.

Cambridge drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Grant gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Cambridge has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Grant after a bit of a struggle.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Cambridge has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grant is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Cambridge breaks the clinch.
Grant cracks Cambridge with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Cambridge falls to his knees and Grant doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ulysses Grant!
