Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sashay Ameritage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sashay Ameritage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Summer Carpenter and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jones breaks from the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jones.

Ameritage rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ameritage throws an overhand right that lands on Jones's shoulder, as Jones tries to avoid the shot.
Ameritage shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ameritage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Ameritage will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Jones wanted to stand there but Ameritage had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ameritage tries to clinch there but Jones circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Jones.

Ameritage breaks the clinch.
The crowd cheers as Jones lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ameritage doesn't seem phased though.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A slow jab from Ameritage misses its intended target.
Ameritage sets himself, and Jones steps forward looking for the clinch! Ameritage avoids it this time.
Ameritage misses with a straight left.
Ameritage bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jones's head.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ameritage defends well and Jones ends up having to push Ameritage into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ameritage stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Sashay Ameritage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jones.
Ameritage looks to land a body kick but Jones moved away.
Ameritage tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Ameritage tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ameritage somewhat.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Jones tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ameritage smiles and moves away.

Ameritage has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.

Ameritage is breathing heavily.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ameritage pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ameritage throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Ameritage shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Ameritage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Jones shoots for a takedown but Ameritage saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Jones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ameritage up against the cage.

Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ameritage's waist but Ameritage gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Jones dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jones shoots for a takedown but Ameritage saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ameritage changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Ameritage manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ameritage throws a leg kick that misses.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jones lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ameritage shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Ameritage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Sashay Ameritage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jones.
Ameritage doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones keeps control of Ameritage as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jones has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ameritage uses from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Jones has his foot on Ameritage's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ameritage works his way back into a safe position though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ameritage manages to get himself to full guard.

Sashay Ameritage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ameritage is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Ameritage circles away and we're back to standing.

Ameritage on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

James Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Ameritage!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ameritage tries to get back to half guard but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Jones stands up.

Ameritage takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Ameritage is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jones can't fight it off and eventually Ameritage manages to take the fight to the floor. Jones looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jones wriggles free and stands up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control.

Jones in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
James Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ameritage keeps working.
Ameritage tries to improve position but can't.
Ameritage is not content to let Jones control the position.
Ameritage can't do much from the bottom here.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ameritage is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Arvins Bootcamp, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Ameritage will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Jones misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Jones is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ameritage knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

James Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
