Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ray Stuckey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ato Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez throws a body punch but Stuckey moves out of range.
Velasquez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stuckey wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Velasquez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Stuckey.
Velasquez has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Stuckey is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Stuckey throws a jab when Velasquez was well out of range.
Stuckey misses with a straight left.
Stuckey tries to move into range but Velasquez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Stuckey throws a front kick that sends Velasquez stumbling back into the cage.
Stuckey thows a left - swing and a miss!
Stuckey lands a slapping body shot.
Stuckey connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Velasquez momentarily.


It looks like Ato Velasquez has been cut.
Stuckey misses with a straight left.
Stuckey is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Velasquez's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Velasquez staying out of range there.
Stuckey misses with a hook.
Stuckey jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stuckey tries to clinch there but Velasquez circles away.

Velasquez throws a hook but Stuckey blocks it.
Velasquez throws a series of punches but Stuckey moves out of range.
Stuckey slips a jab and a cross from Velasquez.
Stuckey sizes up Velasquez with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Velasquez slips a straight right by Stuckey.
Stuckey lands a jab.
Stuckey misses with a hook. Velasquez ducked under it nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Velasquez. Those never looked like landing.
Stuckey looks for the body kick but Velasquez saw that one coming.

and Velasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Stuckey is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Velasquez.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Velasquez looks to score with a jab to the body but Stuckey is just out of range.

Velasquez jabs Stuckey right on the nose. Stuckey blinks but takes it well.
Velasquez throws an overhand right that lands on Stuckey's shoulder, as Stuckey tries to avoid the shot.

As Velasquez tries to get set, Stuckey tries to push him back and clinch up but Velasquez manages to avoid the attempt.
No joy there for Velasquez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Stuckey throws a big shot that misses.
Velasquez has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Stuckey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Velasquez.
Velasquez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Velasquez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Velasquez swings for the body but Stuckey moves out of range.
Velasquez falls off balance throwing a combination
and Stuckey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Stuckey sends Velasquez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Stuckey is motioning to the referee to let Velasquez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Velasquez is rocked!
Stuckey thuds a left hand into Velasquez's body.
Velasquez looks winded!

Velasquez looks to land a combination but Stuckey avoids it well.

Stuckey takes the fight into the clinch.
Velasquez is looking to control Stuckey's arms but Stuckey gets an underhook and turns him. Now Velasquez has his back to the cage.

Stuckey gets through Velasquez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stuckey scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Stuckey doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Stuckey lands a right hand that snaps the head of Velasquez backwards.

Stuckey gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Stuckey is pushing Velasquez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Ray Stuckey.

Stuckey lands a big right hand that sends Velasquez crashing to the mat! Stuckey stays standing though and waves Velasquez back to his feet!
Velasquez is still on wobbly legs! Can Stuckey finish him?
Stuckey seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Velasquez circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Stuckey. Velasquez falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Stuckey!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ray Stuckey!
A relieved looking Ray Stuckey thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
