Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Dodd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Norris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Dodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Norris!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodd slaps away a takedown attempt from Norris, before circling back to the center of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Norris throws an elbow but it misses.
Norris is working for takedown but Dodd is calmly controlling the position for now.
Dodd makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dodd lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Norris backwards.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Norris looking to stall.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dodd.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dodd taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Dodd is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Norris is defending well for now.
Dodd pressing his opponent against the cage.
Norris drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fred Dodd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce Norris.
The referee calls for Dodd to work.
Norris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Norris has Dodd pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dodd manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Norris tries to pull guard but Dodd forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Norris takes a shot to the head.
Norris has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Dodd seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Norris can turn it around.
Norris has a couple of punches blocked by Dodd.
Dodd slowing the pace effectively.

Norris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Dodd stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Norris swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Norris pulls Dodd in close to his closed guard and prevents Dodd from doing any damage or advancing position.
Norris being controlled here, momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dodd decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Norris, up you get!
A head kick misses from Norris.
Dodd was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Norris throws a sloppy head kick and Dodd moves out of range easily.
Dodd seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Dodd closes the distance and clinches.
Dodd working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Norris tries to pull guard but Dodd won't allow it.
Norris drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dodd pulls his leg out and moves away.
Norris looks winded!
Norris misses with a head kick.
Dodd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Norris.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norris takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Dodd closes the distance and pushes Norris back into the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Dodd.
Come on Dodd - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Dodd pushes Norris back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dodd dips a shoulder and cracks Norris with a mighty uppercut! Norris falls back against the cage and Dodd unloads with a barrage of strikes! Norris is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Dodd screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fred Dodd!
