Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Big Joe!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Francis DeMontford and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe shoots in but Grant avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Grant manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Joe on his heels. He'll look to pass Joe's guard now, I'm sure.
Grant wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.

Joe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Grant doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Grant manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grant is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Grant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Grant throws an elbow that misses. Joe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Grant's guard. Nice move by Joe!

Grant knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joe on the ground.
Joe stands up over Grant, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Joe slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Grant gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Joe looking to control but Grant is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Grant is bucking up trying to escape but Joe cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Joe avoids the attempt from Grant to control.

Joe is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Joe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Big Joe!
During a confident post fight interview, Big Joe thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
