Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonas Bell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Sveshnikov!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sveshnikov takes the fight into the clinch.

Bell pulls guard effortlessly.

Sveshnikov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sveshnikov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sveshnikov slips nicely into half guard.
Sveshnikov stops Bell from getting back to his feet.
Sveshnikov is looking to advance position but Bell won't allow it.

Sveshnikov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sveshnikov is looking for a kimura but Bell is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sveshnikov to get the leverage.
Sveshnikov wants to free his trapped foot but Bell is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bell could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Sveshnikov prevents Bell from standing back up.
Sveshnikov blocks the strikes from Bell.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bell missing with punches from the bottom.

Sveshnikov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bell has managed to free his arm - good work.
Bell landing rabbit punches to the side of Sveshnikov's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Sveshnikov passes to full mount!

Sveshnikov is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bell is surviving well by controlling Sveshnikov's body position as best he can.
Bell tries to reverse the position but Sveshnikov maintains control.
Bell is working hard here to advance position.
Bell is trying to escape the mount but Sveshnikov keeps good control and instead manages to take Bell's back.
Bell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Bell is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Bell trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sveshnikov is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bell knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bell for a finish.

Bell is trying to stand back up.

Sveshnikov looking for the choke but no joy.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
I really don't envy Bell right now.

Bell showing good submission defense here.
Bell is trying to get back to his feet but Sveshnikov has full control of the position and if anything, Bell has just worked his way into a worse spot.

Bell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sveshnikov gets his way!
Bell is trying to stand back up.
Bell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sveshnikov on the ground.

Sveshnikov is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Bell with him. Bell is trying to defend but Sveshnikov has an arm under the chin now! Bell grimaces and is forced to tap out!
