Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Craven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mickey Evans has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Craven!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans instigates a clinch.

Craven pulls Evans into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Craven is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans is stalling in the full guard.
Evans really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Craven manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Evans manages to get himself to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Craven tries to free his leg and advance position but Evans is retaining full guard.

Craven working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Craven stands up and waves to Evans to follow him.
Craven throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Craven shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evans's guard.

Craven is fighting to break Evans's control of his arms but Evans is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Craven accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Evans wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Evans has Craven up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Craven is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Craven has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Evans uses from the top position.

Craven will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Craven has his foot on Evans's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Evans works his way back into a safe position though.
Evans won't allow Craven to sweep him here.

Craven gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Craven avoids the elbow strike from Evans, against the cage.
Evans with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
A frustrated look appears on Evans's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Craven has Evans pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Craven pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Evans tumbling to the mat - Craven dives into Evans's guard.
Craven tries to stand but Evans is controlling from the bottom.
Evans bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Craven's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans drops back looking for a leg! Craven is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Craven manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into Craven's guard.

Craven is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well.
Evans controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Craven wants to stand and escape but Evans is having none of it.
Evans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Craven works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Craven is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Evans defends well.

Evans thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Craven. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Craven gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Evans throws an elbow but it's blocked.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Evans just misses with a elbow thrown towards Craven's brow.
Craven is trying to push Evans away but Evans has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Evans jumps guard and drags Craven to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Craven wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
Craven passes into half guard.
Evans is doing well to control the position and prevent Craven from advancing to side control.
Craven seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Evans does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Evans gets back to full guard.
Craven trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Evans tries to land a sweep but no joy.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Craven tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
As Craven tries to get set, Evans tries to push him back and clinch up but Craven manages to avoid the attempt.

Craven shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Craven was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Evans wants to control but Craven is keeping busy.
Craven lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Evans is trying to maintain the position but Craven is very close to passing his half guard.

Evans makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Evans.

Craven wants to stand but Evans has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Craven wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Evans works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Craven is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Craven takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Craven trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Evans slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Craven wants to improve his position but instead Evans has moved into half guard.
Craven wants to control but Evans is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Evans is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Craven tries to get to full guard but Evans has control of the leg.
Evans slips a nice elbow through Craven's hands, connecting with Craven's forehead.

Derek Craven is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Evans will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Craven is defending against the submission attempts here by Evans.
