The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giantsbane looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Giantsbane's coach down at Winds of Winter was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Giantsbane's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Giantsbane rushes Grundy and presses him up against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Giantsbane creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Grundy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Giantsbane has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Grundy tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Giantsbane is able to avoid easily.
Grundy takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Grundy forces Giantsbane back against the cage and clinches.
Giantsbane tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Giantsbane lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Giantsbane wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Giantsbane throws a punch but it's blocked by Grundy.
Grundy's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Grundy closes the distance and clinches.
Grundy lands with a short punch from the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Grundy.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Giantsbane swings wildly with an uppercut but Grundy uses good head movement to avoid it.
Giantsbane lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Grundy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Giantsbane swats away the attempt to clinch by Grundy.

Giantsbane lands a left and a right that sends Grundy crashing to the canvas! Giantsbane dives into mount looking to finish!

Grundy is rocked!
Giantsbane prevents Grundy from getting the reversal.

Giantsbane loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Grundy scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Giantsbane land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Giantsbane stands and salutes the crowd.

Tormund Giantsbane decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
