Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bud Stanchion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donny Ling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Donny Ling!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ling drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Stanchion manages to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ling keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Ling wants to stand up but Stanchion is controlling the position.
Stanchion is looking to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ling looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Stanchion slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ling is looking to pass into half guard but Stanchion pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Stanchion is in guard.
Stanchion sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ling's guard.
Stanchion is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stanchion is trying to control. Ling wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ling is trying to get back to full guard.

Ling holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Stanchion prevents Ling from improving his position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Stanchion slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Ling fails to land the takedown.
No luck for Stanchion with that takedown attempt.
Stanchion moves out of range of the body kick from Ling.
Stanchion shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ling as he jumps to the side.

Ling closes the distance and pushes Stanchion back into the cage.
Stanchion is looking to take this one to the mat.

Stanchion jumps guard but Ling turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Stanchion has clasped his hands together around Ling's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Ling is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ling tries to kick Stanchion off but Stanchion keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Stanchion tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ling paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Stanchion has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ling is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stanchion.

Stanchion is looking to regain half guard here but Ling keeps moving and retains side control.
Ling is trying to get an arm triangle but Stanchion is defending well.
Stanchion is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ling is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ling lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Stanchion hang on?
Stanchion is looking to improve his position but Ling isn't that keen on the idea.
Donny Ling has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ling swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Stanchion is now in Ling's guard. A big mistake from Ling there, giving up the dominant position!
Stanchion looking to sit in guard and control but Ling gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Stanchion controls Ling momentarily but Ling frees himself.
Ling wanted to stand there but Stanchion had control of the position.
Ling controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Ling slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Stanchion keeping moving, preventing Ling from controlling successfully.
Ling controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Donny Ling showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ling has Stanchion up against the cage in a clinch.
Ling is trying to trip Stanchion. He has hold of a leg but Stanchion is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ling persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Stanchion stands up over Ling, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Stanchion got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ling has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stanchion has managed to get both his arms back between Ling's legs - danger averted.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ling throws a body shot but no joy.
Stanchion shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ling decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stanchion's guard.

Ling trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stanchion trying to keep a closed guard but Ling is proving a slippery customer.
Stanchion has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

I would just about give that final round to Donny Ling.
