The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rivera enables Kevin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rivera manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Rivera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kevin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kevin wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rivera gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kevin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Kevin forces his way into half guard.
Kevin throws a strike but Rivera avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kevin wants to pass the guard but Rivera is keeping the position.

Rivera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kevin defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kevin postures up in Rivera's guard and throws a big left but Rivera blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kevin wants to control from the top but Rivera keeps moving.

Kevin loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kevin has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rivera to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kevin is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rivera pulls down on the head and he's put Kevin to sleep! This one is all over!
