Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Glass Joe!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Anthony Taglia and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Asai throws out the jab.
Asai misses with a head kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Joe has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nice defenses there by Joe.
Asai tries a head kick but it misses.
Joe throws a nice outside leg kick.

and Joe counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Asai misses with a hook
and Joe counters with a nice body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Joe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Asai lands a big head kick that sends Joe tumbling to the mat! Asai takes a step backwards and waves Joe back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Joe is rocked!
It looks like Glass Joe has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Joe fails with the takedown
and Asai counters with a huge right that knocks Joe out cold! Asai is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
