The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Kaewsamrit counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Good leg kick by Kaewsamrit there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kaewsamrit connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Monroe's hands.

We've been informed that Kaewsamrit has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Monroe just misses with a punch to the body.
Kaewsamrit swings for the body but Monroe moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

No joy there for Kaewsamrit, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Monroe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kaewsamrit eats them both and turns towards Monroe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Kaewsamrit fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Monroe checks it well.
Kaewsamrit is still on wobbly legs! Can Monroe finish him?

Monroe connects with a beautiful left hand that drops Kaewsamrit onto his butt! Kaewsamrit bounces straight back up though - he's OK. After the ref checks him out, we're back to the action.

Monroe avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Monroe jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Monroe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Monroe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Monroe throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Monroe connects with a quick right hand that sends Kaewsamrit tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
