Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bogdan Dereza!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richmond pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ned Richmond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Richmond clinches.

Dereza breaks from the clinch.

Richmond clinches.
Dereza lands with a right to the head.

Richmond has picked Dereza up - he's going for a ride! Richmond dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Richmond prevents Dereza from standing back up.

Richmond decides to stand up.

Richmond takes the fight into the clinch.
Dereza lands with a short punch from the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Richmond has Dereza pressed against the cage, preventing Dereza from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Richmond has clasped his hands together around Dereza's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Richmond is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dereza's shoulder. That is not cool.
Dereza is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Richmond is controlling him well.

Richmond has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Richmond gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Dereza lands a left hand that snaps the head of Richmond backwards.


Richmond is rocked!
A head punch blocked on the inside by Richmond.
Oh Richmond is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dereza lands a right hand.
Dereza scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Richmond prevents Dereza from breaking the clinch.

A head punch on the inside from Dereza fails to land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dereza swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Richmond jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dereza walks away with a smile on his face. Richmond gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Richmond clinches up with Dereza and pushes him back against the cage.

Dereza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Richmond rushes Dereza and presses him up against the cage.

Richmond is trying to trip Dereza. He has hold of a leg but Dereza is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Richmond persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Richmond drops back looking for a leg! Dereza is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dereza manages to kick Richmond off! Richmond jumps back into Dereza's guard.
Richmond controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Richmond seems to have got his legs back now.
Dereza is looking to stand back up but Richmond counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dereza.

Richmond is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Richmond is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Richmond is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Dereza has managed to free his arm - good work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Richmond in particular looking to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Richmond has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Dereza defend it? Richmond steps over the head and cranks it - Dereza is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Richmond!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ned Richmond!
