Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masa Wasa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Hound (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wasa comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome To The Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Wasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, The Hound!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasa takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.


It looks like Masa Wasa has been cut.
Wasa just misses with a punch to the body.
Wasa has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Martial Arts Dojo in the buildup to the fight.
Good exchange - Hound coming out on top.
Hound looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wasa is fending him off so far but Hound persists. Nope, Wasa circles away and we're back to standing.
Wasa tried to counter with a leg kick but Hound avoided it.
Hound looks to land a combination but Wasa avoids it well.
Wasa connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Hound ducks right into an uppercut from Wasa.
Hound takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Hound shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Wasa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hound working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Wasa throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Hound escapes and throws Wasa's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Hound is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wasa has escaped the position, nice work there.

Wasa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Hound's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Hound wants to pass to mount but Wasa is defending the position.

Wasa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hound pulls his head out easily.

Hound is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wasa defends it well.

Wasa is looking to control Hound's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wasa avoid being mounted?

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hound is working for a kimura but Wasa is defending it quite comfortably.

Hound is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Wasa tries to roll over but Hound keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hound is looking to take a break and control but Wasa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wasa moves into full guard.
Hound wants to control from the top but Wasa keeps moving.
Wasa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hound manages to get himself to full guard.

Wasa stands and throws Hound's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Hound is looking for a sweep.

Wasa goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hound rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Wasa's guard! Nice work there by Hound!

Hound pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wasa is keeping the position for now.

Wasa working for a triangle but Hound defends it easily.

Wasa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hound throws a big right hand that misses.

Hound thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hound looking to pass the guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hound is pushing down on Wasa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wasa is fighting to maintain full guard but Hound has managed to sneak the leg through.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Hound dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Masa Wasa's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Wasa looks for the body kick but Hound saw that one coming.
Hound throws out a loose jab but Wasa uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wasa dips to his left and cracks Hound with an uppercut!
Wasa cracks the inside of Hound's front leg.
Wasa throws a head kick but Hound moves out of range.
Masa Wasa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wasa throws a body shot but no joy.
A head kick from Wasa lands but Hound takes it in his stride.

Hound bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hound is trying to get an arm triangle but Wasa is defending well.

Hound thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hound wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Wasa, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wasa is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hound off and has taken his back!

I really don't envy Hound right now.

Hound showing good submission defense here.
Wasa is trying to stick to Hound's back but Hound is turning into Wasa. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wasa's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hound.

Hound drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wasa looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wasa looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wasa!


Wasa working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Wasa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hound knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hound is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hound manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Wasa makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wasa.
Hound trying to control the position from guard on top but Wasa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wasa trying to keep a closed guard but Hound is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Hound advances position into side control!
Wasa tries to bench press Hound off him but Hound keeps the position.
Wasa prevents Hound from moving into mount.

Hound has hold of Wasa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Wasa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hound cranks the arm and Wasa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Wasa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). The Hound!
The Hound decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
