The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cutesic Junior shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cutesic Junior looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rydell moves into full guard.
Rydell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cutesic Junior is refusing to be controlled, as Rydell sits in half guard.
Rydell might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cutesic Junior haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rydell lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rydell drops an elbow to the side of Cutesic Junior's head.

Rydell wants to work for an arm triangle but Cutesic Junior is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rydell lands with a punch from half guard.
Rydell works his way into side control.
A lull in the action here as Rydell stalls from top position.

Rydell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rydell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cutesic Junior keeps working.
Rydell advances nicely into full mount.

Rydell jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cutesic Junior manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Rydell decides to stand back up.
Cutesic Junior looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Rydell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cutesic Junior manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cutesic Junior has momentary wrist control but Rydell slips an elbow through the middle.

Rydell drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Rydell seems to have locked his on tight now - Cutesic Junior screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Rydell, as he picks up the win!
