The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simard tries for a takedown but Wag sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Simard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Simard walks into a left hand.

Wag shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Simard is trying to defend but Wag finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Simard pushes Wag off but Wag dives into side control.
Wag tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Wag content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Wag seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Simard for as long as he can get away with.
