PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Niedzwiedzki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michael Jordan looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruno Niedzwiedzki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niedzwiedzki keeps the fight on the outside.
Niedzwiedzki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jordan as he jumps to the side.
Jordan has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
A combination from Jordan does no damage.
Jordan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Niedzwiedzki swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Niedzwiedzki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jordan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Niedzwiedzki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jordan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Niedzwiedzki's waist but Niedzwiedzki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jordan off to one side.

Niedzwiedzki clinches up with Jordan and pushes him back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Niedzwiedzki keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jordan's efforts to push away.

Niedzwiedzki gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Jordan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jordan turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Niedzwiedzki is looking to reverse the position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jordan wants to control from the top but Niedzwiedzki keeps moving.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Niedzwiedzki is on top in guard.

Jordan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Niedzwiedzki throwing strikes but missing.

Niedzwiedzki is looking to work some ground and pound but Jordan has wrist control.
Niedzwiedzki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jordan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jordan wants to sweep here but Niedzwiedzki controlling him for the moment.
Jordan trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Niedzwiedzki wants to control from the top but Jordan keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Niedzwiedzki misses with a takedown

and Jordan counters by moving into the clinch.

Jordan has hold of one of Niedzwiedzki's legs. Niedzwiedzki is fighting the takedown attempt but Jordan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Niedzwiedzki tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jordan avoids it.

Niedzwiedzki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Niedzwiedzki fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jordan to the ground. Niedzwiedzki is now in Jordan's guard.

Niedzwiedzki is trying to drag Jordan to the mat but Jordan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Niedzwiedzki is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Jordan gets underhooks to prevent Niedzwiedzki's takedown attempt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jordan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Niedzwiedzki wriggles free and stands up.
Niedzwiedzki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jordan defends well and Niedzwiedzki ends up having to push Jordan into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Niedzwiedzki wants to clinch up but Jordan keeps it at a distance.

and Jordan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Michael Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jordan tries a knee to the head but Niedzwiedzki blocks it.
Niedzwiedzki is trying to force a seperation but Jordan has the dominant position.

Niedzwiedzki is looking to clinch but Jordan is avoiding it.

Bruno Niedzwiedzki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Niedzwiedzki or perhaps it was just good defense by Jordan, which made it look bad.
Jordan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jordan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jordan wants it to stay on the feet.

Niedzwiedzki tries to break free but Jordan pushes him back against the cage.
Niedzwiedzki using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jordan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Niedzwiedzki gets to his feet - Jordan follows without any prompting.

Jordan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Niedzwiedzki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jordan walks away with a smile on his face. Niedzwiedzki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jordan moves into the clinch successfully.

Jordan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jordan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Niedzwiedzki tries to pull guard but Jordan won't allow it.

Jordan works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Jordan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Niedzwiedzki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Niedzwiedzki is trying to control the position but Jordan postures up.

Niedzwiedzki looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jordan has picked Niedzwiedzki up and slammed him! Niedzwiedzki can't keep hold of the triangle and Jordan manages to pass to side control!

Jordan thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jordan tries to move to mount but Niedzwiedzki blocks the move with his legs.
Niedzwiedzki tries to improve position but can't.

Jordan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Niedzwiedzki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Niedzwiedzki is looking to regain half guard here but Jordan keeps moving and retains side control.
Bruno Niedzwiedzki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Michael Jordan is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Michael Jordan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jordan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
