Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Diamond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin has chosen Get Low as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of New York, King Diamond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Griffin.
Griffin throws the left hand but Diamond avoids the punch easily.
Griffin throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Diamond sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Griffin scores with a jab. Diamond acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Diamond seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Griffin scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nice defenses there by Griffin.
Diamond fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Griffin throws the left hand but Diamond avoids the punch easily.
Diamond bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
King Diamond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diamond misses with a two punch combination.
Griffin throws a hook but Diamond avoids it easily.
Griffin slips under a jab from Diamond.

Diamond throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

It seemed like Griffin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Diamond is looking to wear down Griffin with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Diamond closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Griffin's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diamond wants to stand but Griffin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Diamond stands and throws Griffin's legs to the side, diving into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Griffin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Diamond throwing strikes but Griffin manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Diamond might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Diamond tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Griffin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Griffin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Diamond is bucking up trying to escape but Griffin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Diamond tries to counter by clinching up but Griffin breaks away and moves out of range.
Griffin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Diamond takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
A little jabbing left from Griffin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A telegraphed right hand from Griffin misses the target.
Diamond throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Griffin on the side of the head.
Diamond throws a predictable looking body shot
and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like King Diamond has been cut.

Diamond clinches up with Griffin and pushes him back against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Diamond jumps guard but Griffin stands there with Diamond around his waist. Diamond gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Diamond creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Griffin's defenses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Diamond can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Griffin controls the pace.

Diamond isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Griffin stacks Diamond on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Griffin!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Diamond is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Griffin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Diamond throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Griffin was covering up waiting for the punch and Diamond finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Diamond wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.
King Diamond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Peter Griffin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.


Diamond is rocked!
Peter Griffin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Griffin takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Peter Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Griffin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
