PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Vallely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Vallely!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage misses the jab.
Vallely drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rage defends it well.
Ryan Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vallely darts in looking for a takedown but Rage gets double underhooks and turns Vallely into the cage.

Vallely closes the distance and clinches.
Vallely tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vallely tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rage just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ryan Rage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Vallely.

Vallely breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Some bone on bone action there as Vallely checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vallely feints the counter takedown.
Rage lands a really nice looking cross but Vallely seems unphased.
Rage swings for the body but Vallely moves out of range.
Rage swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A little jabbing left from Vallely on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some wild striking there from Rage.
Rage misses with a series of wild punches.
Vallely slips under a jab from Rage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rage throws a leg kick

and Vallely counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rage won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vallely happy to just control the position for now.

Vallely decides to stand back up.
Ryan Rage is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vallely scores with a body shot.

Vallely scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Rage explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vallely moves into the clinch.
Vallely changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rage fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rage swinging wildly here.
Vallely raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Vallely has his takedown stuffed
and Rage counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Vallely thinking.
Vallely lands a jab-cross combination.
Vallely shoots in but no luck this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rage swinging wildly here.
Rage missing with a left hand there. Vallely was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Vallely closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Vallely escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vallely misses with a takedown attempt - Rage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Vallely feints and as Rage raises his hands in defense, Vallely changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vallely is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Vallely stands up and waves to Rage to follow him.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rage. Vallely does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rage throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rage throws a hook but Vallely blocks it.
Rage misses with a body punch
and Vallely counters with a huge head kick that drops Rage! The ref dives in to stop the fight and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Vallely!
