Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Rondon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asu Kuren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Asu Kuren has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Rondon !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Asu Kuren!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuren avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rondon misses with a hook to the body

and Kuren counters by clinching up.
Kuren has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Rondon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kuren gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Rondon is looking to get back to is feet but Kuren passes into side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
It looks like Kuren might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Let's hope that Kuren has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rondon is letting Kuren control him for a moment.
Rondon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kuren asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Rondon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kuren on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rondon is covering up but some of the strikes from Kuren are getting through and doing damage.

Rondon is trapped and Kuren is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Rondon is trying to get back to his feet but Kuren has full control of the position and if anything, Rondon has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Rondon takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Kuren is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Kuren lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Kuren is riding his opponent, not letting Rondon buck him off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kuren is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Kuren gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Kuren gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Kuren apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Rondon misses with a few strikes there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rondon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kuren.

Rondon tries to sprawl but Kuren drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kuren perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Asu Kuren dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Kuren has Rondon up against the cage in a clinch.

Rondon is trying to escape back to his feet but Kuren uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Kuren cracks Rondon with a big elbow.
Rondon tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Kuren's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kuren has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rondon 's face.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Kuren.

Rondon is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Kuren lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuren lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rondon is trying to stand.
Kuren landing strikes, looking to finish!

Rondon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rondon tries to get out of the position.
Kuren pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Rondon is rocked!
Kuren fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Oh Rondon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kuren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Kuren is in the full mount, landing strikes.
You get the feeling that Rondon really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Asu Kuren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Rondon misses with a two punch combination.
Rondon seems to have got his legs back now.
Rondon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kuren is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Kuren rushes Rondon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kuren wants to take the fight to the mat but Rondon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Kuren has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Rondon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rondon is trying to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kuren slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Kuren connects with a big shot to the side of Rondon 's head.
Rondon is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kuren.
Rondon is trying to stand back up.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Yet more stalling tactics from Kuren.
Kuren lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Rondon hold on?!
Kuren really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Rondon .

Kuren lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Rondon .
Kuren biding his time, controlling Rondon .
Rondon is trying to get back to his feet but Kuren has full control of the position and if anything, Rondon has just worked his way into a worse spot.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Kuren controlling the positon.
Rondon wants to get back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kuren biding his time, controlling Rondon .
Kuren lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Rondon .
Dante Rondon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Asu Kuren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kuren winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
