The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chao fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Chao throws a head kick that misses.
Chao avoids the head kick by Moreno.
Chao has a takedown stuffed.
Moreno misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Moreno darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Chao trying to control but Moreno postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chao is looking for a sweep. Moreno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Moreno lands a big shot there that rocks Chao but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chao is bucking up trying to escape but Moreno cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Moreno has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chao takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

We've been hearing that Moreno has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Moreno loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Chao scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Moreno land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Moreno stands and salutes the crowd.
