The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gracie misses with a takedown

and Dodson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gracie!

Dodson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dodson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

That was a close round but I would say that Benny Dodson will probably get the nod.

Dodson darts in and clinches Gracie up against the cage.

Dodson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gracie can't fight it off and eventually Dodson manages to take the fight to the floor. Gracie looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dodson stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Gracie has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Dodson manages to get his head free but now Gracie has transitioned to an armbar! Dodson grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Gracie! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

A relieved looking Royce Gracie thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
