Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erick Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into the arena with Country Boy - Aaron Lewis blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith connects with a looping right hand.
Bubba Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws the left hand but Souza avoids the punch easily.
Souza finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

and Souza counters by clinching up.

Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Factory in the buildup to the fight.

Souza throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Smith tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Souza is in Smith's guard.

Smith wriggles free and stands up.

Smith gets tackled into the cage by Souza. Souza maintains the clinch.
Smith blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Smith's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Smith misses with a hook. Souza ducked under it nicely.
Smith throws a series of punches but Souza avoids them all with ease.
Souza staying out of range there.
Smith throws a looping overhand right but Souza ducks down to avoid it.
Smith misses with a straight left.
Smith avoids a punch combination nicely.

Souza throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Souza shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Souza takes one on the button.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Souza looking to score a takedown here. Smith is defending well but Souza drives through and ends up in Smith's guard.
Smith is looking to stand up but Souza isn't so interested in that idea.
Smith is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Souza dives into side control.
Smith is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Souza asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Souza content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
