The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Michel counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
Johnson trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Michel trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.
Michel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Michel's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Michel trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Michel won't allow Johnson to sweep him here.

Michel stands up over Johnson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Johnson is trying to control the position but Michel postures up.
Michel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Johnson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Michel is looking to defend but Johnson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Michel! Johnson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Michel taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Curtis Johnson!
