Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Minor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vicente Lafayette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Vicente Lafayette was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minor fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Minor has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Minor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lafayette scores with a jab to the jaw.
A bone on bone clash there as Minor blocks the leg kick.
Lafayette thuds his shin into the meat of Minor's side.
Minor lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A big left from Lafayette misses.
Lafayette looks to score with a jab to the body but Minor is just out of range.
As Lafayette backs away, Minor returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Minor avoids the body shot from Lafayette.
Lafayette throws a body shot but no joy.
Minor was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lafayette uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Minor.

Minor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lafayette swings for the body but Minor moves out of range.
A lazy left from Minor finds it's target.
Minor is looking to slow Lafayette down with leg kicks.
Minor throws a poor cross that misses
and Lafayette makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Lafayette misses the shot to the body.
Lafayette avoids the body shot from Minor.
Lafayette is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Lafayette scores with the left hand. Minor knows he should have avoided that one.

Minor looks to land a combination but Lafayette avoids it well.
Good leg kick by Lafayette there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Minor waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lafayette.
Minor dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lafayette. That did some damage!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lafayette cracks Minor with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Lafayette has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Minor to stand back up!
Minor is rocked!
Minor moves away from the strike by Lafayette.
Oh Minor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Minor looks up at the clock. Bad move! Lafayette lands a right hand from hell, dropping Minor. Lafayette pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vicente Lafayette!
A very excited looking Vicente Lafayette made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
