The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Darrow pinned against the cage. Darrow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
McCarthy fails with the takedown.
McCarthy gets a clinch.
Darrow misses with the head strike.
McCarthy changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Darrow fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Fergus Darrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David McCarthy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McCarthy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Darrow throws out the jab.
McCarthy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McCarthy showed some decent athleticism there.
McCarthy is just content to waste time from the top position. Darrow takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

McCarthy stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Darrow throws up his legs and catches McCarthy in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! McCarthy tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Darrow! That came out of nowhere!
