The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Chavez moves out of range as O'Neil strikes.
O'Neil throws a hook to the side of Chavez's head but Chavez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A nice inside leg kick there by Chavez. That's going to slow O'Neil down.
Chavez throws a body shot but no joy.
O'Neil avoids the body shot from Chavez.
O'Neil cracks Chavez with a right hand to the side of the head.
O'Neil fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chavez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
O'Neil looks to score with a jab to the body but Chavez is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
O'Neil's jab looks to have found its range, popping Chavez under the eye.
O'Neil misses with a body shot
and Chavez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Chavez throws a leg kick but O'Neil checks it.
O'Neil just misses with a punch to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chavez misses with an uppercut. O'Neil saw that one coming.
An attempted straight right counter from O'Neil misses the target.
That's one minute gone in the round.
O'Neil lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A punch lands to the side of Chavez 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Chavez is rocked!
Chavez throws a lazy uppercut
and O'Neil counters with a right hand to the body.
Chavez is still on wobbly legs! Can O'Neil finish him?
O'Neil lands a nice hook to Chavez's body. Chavez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Chavez seems to have recovered his senses.
O'Neil throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Chavez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Chavez tries to counter with a clinch but O'Neil shakes him off and moves away.
Chavez throws a jab when O'Neil was well out of range.
O'Neil connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Chavez tumbling to the canvas! O'Neil pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Chavez was done - good stoppage!
