Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Keni Susi and Ivan Wonstom. Susi's entrance music is Metallica - Hero of the Day. A fine choice. Wonstom has chosen Avenged Sevenfold - Lips Of Deceit as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 3 losses; Keni Susi! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Ivan Wonstom!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Don Winkell.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Wonstom closes the distance and clinches.
Susi prevents the takedown attempt.
Wonstom is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Susi can't fight it off and eventually Wonstom manages to take the fight to the floor. Susi looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Susi (0) vs (2) Wonstom
Susi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wonstom can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've been hearing good reports from Susi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Susi has his foot on Wonstom's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wonstom works his way back into a safe position though.
Susi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wonstom is aware though and is defending well.
Susi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Susi has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wonstom doesn't defend quickly enough and Susi has managed to lock this one up! Can Wonstom escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Susi on a fantastic submission victory.
