Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Pate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Santana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santana takes the fight into the clinch.
Pate is trying to pull guard but Santana has him pressed against the cage.

Pate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Santana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pate. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Santana feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Santana takes the fight into the clinch.

Pate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Santana got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pate has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Santana has managed to get both his arms back between Pate's legs - danger averted.

Santana drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pate looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pate looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pate!
