Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Naikrul Dream!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Root!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dream throws a head kick that misses.
Root throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Naikrul Dream has been cut.
Dream takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Root connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dream throws a lazy head kick

and Root counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Root.
Dream will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Root slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Root in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Root has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Root closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dream did well to prevent Root getting side control.
Dream tries to kick Root off in order to stand up. Root Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Dream is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dream being controlled for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Root has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Root lands a few punches from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Root scores with a couple of short elbows.

Root is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Dream looks calm but he's in trouble here. Root gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Dream is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Root lets go of the hold and Dream can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Robert Root!
