Tariaksuq comes into the arena with Tanya Tagaq - Uja blaring out of the sound system. Smith has chosen Bow Down (to no man) as his entrance music. Maurice Smith has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Smith slips a straight right by Tariaksuq.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick
and Tariaksuq counters with an outside leg kick.
Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tariaksuq.
Smith pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smith blocks a jab.
Tariaksuq blocks a head kick by Smith.
Smith on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A head kick by Smith misses
and Tariaksuq counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.
Tariaksuq lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith throws a nice outside leg kick.
Tariaksuq throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like Maurice Smith has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith throws a head kick but Tariaksuq moves out of range.
Tariaksuq tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Tariaksuq takes a kick to the side of the head.
Tariaksuq misses with a shot to the body
and Smith counters with a head kick.
Tariaksuq lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Smith moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tariaksuq throws a lazy right hand but Smith sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
The fighters circling - Tariaksuq throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tariaksuq lands a lovely overhand right.
Smith is rocked!
Tariaksuq throws an uppercut from hell that sends Smith clean off his feet! He's out cold! Tariaksuq stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Issumatar Tariaksuq!
A relieved looking Issumatar Tariaksuq thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Maurice Smith stepped up to the mic, saying 'I took a risk taking this fight. But to be the best you have to beat the best and in the words of the great Arnold Schwarzenegger: "I PEE BLACK"'.
