The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lupus moves forwards but Thackeray connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Duke Lupus has been cut.
Lupus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thackeray connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Thackeray looks to land a body kick but Lupus moved away.
Thackeray with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Lupus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thackeray.
Thackeray throws a wild body kick that Lupus sees coming a mile off.
Lupus wants to counter the offense by Thackeray and move into the clinch position.
Thackeray throws the kick towards the body but Lupus avoids it.
Thackeray throws a body punch but Lupus moves out of range.
Thackeray throws an overhand right that lands on Lupus's shoulder, as Lupus tries to avoid the shot.
Lupus ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lupus moves out of range as Thackeray throws a body kick.
Thackeray waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Lupus.
Crunch! Thackeray slams his shin into Lupus's torso.
Duke Lupus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lupus slips under a jab from Thackeray.
Thackeray lands a head shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thackeray tries to land a front kick but Lupus steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Thackeray jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lupus is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Thackeray with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Thackeray swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Thackeray swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thackeray explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Baal Thackeray is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Thackeray thuds his shin into the meat of Lupus's side.
A nice inside leg kick there by Thackeray. That's going to slow Lupus down.
Thackeray throws a body punch but Lupus moves out of range.
Lupus shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thackeray as he avoids it easily.
Thackeray scoring well with a low kick there.
Thackeray scores with a one two! Lupus had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Thackeray looks to land a body kick but Lupus moved away.
Thackeray leaves Lupus with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Thackeray throwing a counter right hand but Lupus manages to avoid it.
Lupus tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Thackeray scores with a leg kick.
Thackeray feints and then cracks Lupus's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lupus down.

Thackeray lands a left and a right that send Lupus crashing to the mat, dazed. Thackeray thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Lupus is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thackeray is stalking Lupus. Lupus circles to his left. Keeps circling left. Bam! Straight right from Thackeray, and it's lights out! Lupus really payed the price for that rookie mistake.

Baal Thackeray was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
