Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doctor Slaughter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergei Kharitonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaughter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is SICCNESS. Doctor Slaughter is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Kharitonov!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slaughter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Slaughter looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Kharitonov is avoiding damage well.
Kharitonov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Kharitonov on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Slaughter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kharitonov tries to buck Slaughter off but Slaughter is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slaughter is looking to take a break and control but Kharitonov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kharitonov is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Slaughter looks up at the clock and then as Kharitonov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Slaughter smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Slaughter is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kharitonov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Kharitonov parries the strikes from Slaughter easily there. Slaughter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kharitonov to escape.
Kharitonov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Slaughter cracks Kharitonov with a big right hand but Kharitonov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Slaughter lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kharitonov down.

Kharitonov is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Slaughter is controlling him well.

Slaughter wants to control but Kharitonov is keeping him busy.
Slaughter misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

and Slaughter counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Kharitonov looks to throw the jab but Slaughter is out of range.

Kharitonov is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Slaughter with a body shot.
Slaughter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Kharitonov lands a head kick that stumbles Slaughter and the fighters go to the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doctor Slaughter dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kharitonov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.


It looks like Doctor Slaughter has been cut.
Slaughter closes the distance and clinches up with Kharitonov, looking for a takedown. Slaughter pushes Kharitonov against the cage but Kharitonov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slaughter swings for the body but Kharitonov moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Slaughter.
Slaughter throws a right hand that misses
and Kharitonov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Kharitonov sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Slaughter to the ground! Kharitonov dives into full mount looking to finish!

Kharitonov prevents Slaughter from getting the reversal.
Oh Slaughter is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Slaughter is squirming around, avoiding Kharitonov's attempts to control the action.
Slaughter seems to have got his legs back now.
Kharitonov content just to control the position here.

Slaughter sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Kharitonov perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Slaughter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kharitonov pulls his head out easily.
Slaughter is not content to let Kharitonov control the position.
Slaughter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kharitonov is working away from the top position though.
Doctor Slaughter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Slaughter is looking to improve his position.

Slaughter is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kharitonov pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slaughter is trying to get back to full guard.
Kharitonov wants to free his trapped foot but Slaughter is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Slaughter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kharitonov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kharitonov's back!
Slaughter is working the ground and pound. Can Kharitonov escape?
Kharitonov is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Slaughter lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Slaughter lands a shot to the head.
Slaughter punches Kharitonov on the ear.

Slaughter has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kharitonov's body.

Slaughter is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Kharitonov up.
Slaughter punches Kharitonov on the ear.


Kharitonov is rocked!
Slaughter drops a couple of huge strikes from the back position and Kharitonov is in real trouble here! Slaughter lands more strikes and the referee has to step in to end the fight! Slaughter is delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doctor Slaughter!
A determined Doctor Slaughter didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
