Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shane Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Irvine Kinneas!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kinneas avoids the body shot from Austin.
Austin misses with a lunging right hand
and Kinneas counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Shane Austin has been cut.
Kinneas lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kinneas staying out of range there.
Kinneas appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Kinneas takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kinneas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Austin lands with a cross.
Kinneas throws the left hand but Austin avoids the punch easily.
Austin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Austin misses with a hook
and Kinneas counters with a nice uppercut.
Kinneas misses with a right hand
and Austin counters with a straight right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kinneas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Austin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Austin connects with a body shot that sends Kinneas's belly button to the back.
Austin lands a body shot.
Kinneas throws a low kick but it's checked well by Austin.
Kinneas scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kinneas lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Austin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A big left from Kinneas misses.
Austin misses with a hook to the body
and Kinneas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Austin jabs Kinneas right on the nose. Kinneas blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kinneas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kinneas throws a leg kick which misses Austin's front leg but catches the back leg as Austin tries to avoid it.

Kinneas drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kinneas misses with a wild combination.
Austin on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kinneas throws a chopping leg kick but Austin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Kinneas moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.


Shane Austin's cut is getting worse.
Austin takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Austin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Austin takes a swing at Kinneas's ribcage but misses.
Kinneas misses with a hook. Austin ducked under it nicely.
Austin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Kinneas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kinneas keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Austin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Austin throws a jab when Kinneas was well out of range.
Kinneas lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kinneas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Austin cracks a nice hook into Kinneas's ribs.
Austin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kinneas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kinneas moves away from the strike by Austin.
Kinneas is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Austin had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Kinneas throws out a loose jab but Austin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kinneas with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Austin to score with a decent uppercut.
Kinneas pivots, looking for a leg kick but Austin is out of range and Kinneas settles back down.
Kinneas swings for the body but Austin moves out of range.

Kinneas thuds his shin into the meat of Austin's side.
A big left from Austin misses.
Kinneas lands a jab to the head.


Shane Austin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kinneas is looking to chop away at Austin's legs.
Kinneas throws a head kick that misses
and Austin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kinneas lands a high kick!
Kinneas uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Austin.
Kinneas moves into range and connects with a jab.
Kinneas feints and then cracks Austin's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Austin down.
Kinneas scores with a spinning back kick!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jeez, Shane Austin's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Kinneas throws an off balance right hand
and Austin counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Irvine Kinneas dominated that round.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kinneas slips a straight right by Austin.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kinneas.
Austin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kinneas.
Austin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kinneas takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Kinneas throws a head kick that misses
and Austin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kinneas lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Austin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Kinneas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kinneas waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Austin.

and Austin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kinneas moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Austin throws a body shot but no joy.
Austin scores with a nice strike.
Kinneas throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Austin checks the leg kick.
Austin misses the body punch
and Kinneas counters with an inside leg kick.
Kinneas looks to land a right hand but Austin moved out of range.
Austin is looking to counter punch.
Austin digs a good hook to Kinneas's body.
Kinneas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Austin seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kinneas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Austin.
Kinneas throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Austin throws a jab when Kinneas was well out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Kinneas! But no joy.
Kinneas lands a nice leg kick that just misses Austin's sensitive parts.

and Kinneas counters with a nice uppercut.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Shane Austin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Irvine Kinneas! Irvine Kinneas retains his light heavyweight title!
