PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Head Coach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galdra Kiddi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 12 - 2, fighting out of London, Head Coach!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 19 - 3, fighting out of New York, Galdra Kiddi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kiddi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Kiddi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kiddi swings for the body but Coach moves out of range.
Good exchange - Kiddi coming out on top.
Kiddi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
As Kiddi backs away, Coach returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Coach misses with a straight right.
Galdra Kiddi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Coach enables Kiddi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Coach manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Coach is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Coach can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kiddi controls the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kiddi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coach is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Coach is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Coach is looking for a kimura but Kiddi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coach to get the leverage.

Kiddi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Coach got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kiddi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coach has managed to get both his arms back between Kiddi's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Head Coach will probably get the nod.

Well Coach has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
