The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boulami tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Universe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boulami displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Universe throws out the jab.
Boulami swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Universe ducks right into an uppercut from Boulami.
Boulami slips a jab from Universe.
Universe throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
It looks like Omar Boulami has been cut.
Boulami with a hook.
Boulami misses the shot to the body.
Universe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Boulami misses with a body shot.
Boulami throws a shot to the body.
Boulami is looking to slow Universe down with leg kicks.
Universe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Universe tries to clinch up but Boulami circles away and keeps his distance.

Boulami throws a hook but Universe avoids it easily.
Boulami lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Universe backs up against the cage.

and Universe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Universe throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Universe feints a counter leg kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Boulami. Universe does a little dance to reset his feet.
Universe moves out of range of the strikes.
Boulami ducks under a wild hook from Universe.
Boulami connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Universe's hands.
Mr Universe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boulami is looking to clinch but Universe is avoiding it.
Universe motions for Boulami to come forward. Universe throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Universe manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

A short body shot lands from Boulami as the two fighters clinch.
Universe is trying to break the clinch but Boulami has him pressed against the cage.

Boulami tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Universe is looking to break free of the clinch but Boulami has double underhooks.
Boulami pushes Universe back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Boulami misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Come on Boulami - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Universe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Boulami avoids it.
Boulami manages to pull guard.
Boulami has his foot on Universe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Universe works his way back into a safe position though.

Universe wants to control from the top but Boulami keeps moving.
Universe got a little sloppy there for a moment and Boulami has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Universe has managed to get both his arms back between Boulami's legs - danger averted.
Boulami is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Boulami is looking to sweep but instead, Universe has passed into half guard.

Universe is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Boulami manages to get to full guard.
Universe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Omar Boulami really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Hellbent logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
