Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexandre Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Struts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia comes to the cage accompanied by enguinha pocoto. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alexandre Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Struts!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Struts wants to clinch up but Garcia keeps it at a distance.
Garcia looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Garcia misses with a takedown attempt - Struts sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Struts closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Struts lands in his opponent's guard.

Garcia is working an open guard so Struts takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Struts looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Let's hope that Struts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Struts wants to stand but Garcia has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Struts takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
It looks like Struts might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Struts can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Garcia is looking to escape.
Struts might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Garcia haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Struts tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Struts has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Struts wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Struts working for a guillotine from mount but Garcia is in no mood to give up.
Struts misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Struts unloads with some shots from mount but Garcia bucks and avoids them well.
Struts pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Struts wants to control the pace but Garcia is squirming around nicely.

Struts is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Garcia can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Poor strikes thrown by Struts there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Struts wants to finish this one by submission but Garcia is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Struts.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Struts is landing with some decent strikes but Garcia is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Struts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Garcia drops down looking for an ankle pick but Struts pulls his leg out and moves away.
Struts shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Garcia sprawls well. Garcia wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Struts gets slowly back to his feet.

Struts jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Garcia walks away with a smile on his face. Struts gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Garcia throws a sloppy head kick and Struts moves out of range easily.
Struts shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Garcia defends it nicely.

Struts has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Garcia avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Garcia prevents Struts from improving his position.
Garcia working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Struts tries to roll over but Garcia keeps him under control.

Daniel Struts is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Struts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Struts is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Garcia's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Garcia's back!
