Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Markku Alarinne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Riseman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Jonathan Riseman enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Markku Alarinne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonathan Riseman!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alarinne stuffs the takedown attempt from Riseman. Riseman gets slowly back to his feet.

Riseman feints and as Alarinne raises his hands in defense, Riseman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Riseman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alarinne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Riseman's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Alarinne looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Riseman passes into half guard.
Alarinne is staying active underneath Riseman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Riseman in particular looking to stall.
I looks like Riseman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Riseman in particular looking to stall.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jonathan Riseman just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Riseman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Alarinne avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Riseman is trying to drag Alarinne to the mat but Alarinne just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Alarinne is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Alarinne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Alarinne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Alarinne stands and throws Riseman's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Riseman is landing with some decent strikes but Alarinne is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Riseman is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Alarinne can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Riseman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Alarinne as he jumps to the side.

Alarinne throws a sloppy head kick and Riseman moves out of range easily.
Riseman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alarinne's waist but Alarinne gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Riseman off to one side.

Riseman is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Alarinne can't fight it off and eventually Riseman manages to take the fight to the floor. Alarinne looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Alarinne has his foot on Riseman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Riseman works his way back into a safe position though.

Riseman is nestled in close to Alarinne, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
