Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Park (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tydeas Labeneos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Park's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Nightmare. Richard Park has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tydeas Labeneos!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Labeneos tries for a takedown but Park sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Park seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Park throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A nice side step and Labeneos releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Labeneos gets tackled into the cage by Park. Park maintains the clinch.

Labeneos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Park tries to bum rush Labeneos with a series of wild strikes but Labeneos uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Park rushes Labeneos and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Labeneos manages to break the clinch.
Labeneos has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Park finds it's way round the side to connect with Labeneos's head.
Park digs a good body shot into Labeneos's ribs.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Park creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Labeneos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Park tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Labeneos defends well and Park ends up having to push Labeneos into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Park working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Labeneos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Labeneos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Park on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Park tries to get out of the position.

Park has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Labeneos is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Park.
Park has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Labeneos wants to control but Park is keeping him busy.

Labeneos stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Labeneos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Labeneos's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Labeneos's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Labeneos has closed the distance and engaged Park in a clinch.
Labeneos jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Park walks away with a smile on his face. Labeneos gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tydeas Labeneos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Labeneos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Park moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
As Labeneos tries to get set, Park tries to push him back and clinch up but Labeneos manages to avoid the attempt.
No luck for Park with that takedown attempt.
Labeneos is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Park with a body shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close second round but I would say that Richard Park will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Park, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
