Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dexter Scarface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gustavo Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho lands the left hand.
Carvalho lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Carvalho moves out of range of the strikes.
A jab from Carvalho does it's job there.
A telegraphed right hand from Carvalho misses the target.
Scarface throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Carvalho.
Carvalho looks like he wants to counter punch here.

and Scarface counters with a three punch combo that has Carvalho backing up. Carvalho nods at Scarface to acknowledge the strikes.
Carvalho fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Scarface sprawls well initially but Carvalho persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Scarface went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Scarface seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Scarface throws a big counter combination but Carvalho scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Carvalho tries to bum rush Scarface with a series of wild strikes but Scarface uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scarface enables Carvalho to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scarface manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Scarface is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Scarface tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Carvalho goes for a takedown attempt but Scarface pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carvalho throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Scarface works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Carvalho's corner calls for a 1-2. Carvalho obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carvalho stuns Scarface with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Carvalho motions for Scarface to come forward. Carvalho throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Carvalho closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Scarface quickly recovers to half guard.
Scarface is looking for a sweep. Carvalho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Carvalho not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Scarface gets back to full guard.
Scarface wants to sweep here but Carvalho controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scarface is looking to stand up but Carvalho isn't so interested in that idea.
Scarface is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Scarface lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Carvalho has his foot on Scarface's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Scarface works his way back into a safe position though.

Carvalho is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Scarface rolls with it to try and escape but Carvalho cranks on the arm and Scarface is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gustavo Carvalho!
A very excited looking Gustavo Carvalho rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
