Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jayson Cotton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Gordon will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cotton has managed to clinch.

Gordon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gordon shoots in and bounces Cotton off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Cotton pushes Gordon off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jack Gordon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cotton moves into the clinch.

Gordon has clasped his hands together around Cotton's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Cotton gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gordon is keen to just control but Cotton is a slippery customer.

Cotton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gordon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cotton is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gordon is controlling him.
Gordon tries to stand but Cotton is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cotton is looking for a triangle but Gordon pushes his legs off easily.
Gordon throws a strike but Cotton rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Cotton throws a big right hand that misses.

Cotton keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gordon's head.

Cotton postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cotton lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Cotton won't allow Gordon to get back to his feet.
Cotton distracts Gordon with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gordon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Cotton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Gordon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cotton manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Cotton pushes Gordon off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cotton forces Gordon back against the cage and clinches.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cotton breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Cotton has closed the distance and engaged Gordon in a clinch.

Gordon has hold of one of Cotton's legs. Cotton is fighting the takedown attempt but Gordon gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Gordon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cotton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gordon has managed to get both his arms back between Cotton's legs - danger averted.
Gordon wants to stand and escape but instead Cotton has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Cotton gets to his feet. Gordon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Cotton rushes Gordon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Cotton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gordon, pushing him back against the cage.

Gordon tightens his grip and picks Cotton up, before dumping him to the ground. Cotton manages to land in guard.
Gordon wants to get up but he can't break Cotton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cotton bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gordon's guard.

Cotton decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Gordon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Cotton is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Gordon presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cotton lands a right hand that snaps the head of Gordon backwards.

Cotton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gordon is breathing heavily.

Cotton rushes Gordon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Gordon manages to pull guard.
Cotton scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Cotton cracks Gordon with a solid left hand.
Cotton lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Cotton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cotton decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gordon, up you get!
Gordon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cotton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A right hook to the body lands for Cotton.

Gordon has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Cotton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Cotton is trying to shake Gordon off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Gordon won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.

A frustrated look appears on Cotton's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gordon throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Cotton blocks it with crossed arms.

Cotton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jayson Cotton is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Gordon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cotton makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Cotton tries a head kick but it misses.
Despite the aggression on Gordon's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Cotton drives through and clinches with Gordon against the cage.
Cotton is trying to break the clinch but Gordon is controlling him.

Cotton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gordon takes one to the side of the head.

Gordon gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Gordon has Cotton pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Gordon pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Cotton tumbling to the mat - Gordon dives into Cotton's guard.

Cotton has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gordon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cotton has tightened it up now! Gordon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
