The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newport cracks Jaak with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
We've been informed that Newport has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Jaak closes the distance and clinches up with Newport, looking for a takedown. Jaak pushes Newport against the cage but Newport circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Newport ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jaak has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Newport finds it's way round the side to connect with Jaak's head.
