Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Melvin Morris!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Morris throws a head kick that misses
and Jackson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Morris thinking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Morris or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson, which made it look bad.
Morris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Morris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Morris throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.
Jackson slips a jab and a cross from Morris.
Morris rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jackson stalks Morris and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Morris's face. Morris staggers backwards, shaken.

Morris has closed the distance and engaged Jackson in a clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Morris.
Jackson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mike Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Melvin Morris.
Morris tries to pull guard but Jackson forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jackson lands an uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jackson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Morris manages to circle out of the way.
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Morris misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jackson appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Jackson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at School of Hard Knocks in the buildup to the fight.
Jackson throws a low kick but it's checked well by Morris.

and Jackson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Morris doesn't manage to clinch there - Jackson circles away.
Jackson stuns Morris with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morris was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.

and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morris throws a shot from downtown. Jackson moves away and avoids it.
No joy there for Morris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Jackson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Morris lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Morris misses with a few strikes there.
Morris throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.

Jackson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Morris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Jackson scores with a jab. Morris acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Jackson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Morris is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Jackson.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Morris lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jackson circles away quickly and effectively.
Morris just misses with a punch to the body.
Jackson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Morris pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A combination from Jackson does no damage.
Morris misses with a jab, cross combination.
Morris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Morris throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Morris swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Morris throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Morris scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morris is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jackson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Melvin Morris!
A relieved looking Melvin Morris thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
