Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, DJ Augie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ralph McGuire Jr!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Augie uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGuire Jr.
DJ Augie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGuire Jr blocks a jab.
Augie throws a body shot but no joy.
Augie missing with a left hand there. McGuire Jr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Augie lands with a right hand.
Augie has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Augie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but McGuire Jr avoids it really well and circles away.
McGuire Jr takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGuire Jr throws a front kick aimed at Augie's knee but Augie avoids it well.
Augie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by McGuire Jr. McGuire Jr obviously looking to wear him down.
Augie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Augie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Augie lands in his opponent's guard.
Augie throws a big right hand that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McGuire Jr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
McGuire Jr has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Augie has passed into side control.
McGuire Jr avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Augie.
McGuire Jr is looking to reverse the position.
Augie lands a few punches from side control.


It looks like Ralph McGuire Jr has been cut.
Augie throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Augie creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


That has opened up Ralph McGuire Jr's cut even more.
McGuire Jr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Augie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Augie tries to move to mount but McGuire Jr blocks the move with his legs.

Augie working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuire Jr parries the strikes from Augie easily there. Augie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable McGuire Jr to escape.
McGuire Jr is looking to reverse the position.
McGuire Jr sneaks back into half guard.
McGuire Jr trying to control but Augie postures up.
Augie missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Augie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Augie looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
McGuire Jr trying to control here.

McGuire Jr wants to improve his position but Augie is controlling well.
Augie is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.


The cut above Ralph McGuire Jr's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ralph McGuire Jr's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). DJ Augie!
DJ Augie seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
