Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Francis DeMontford and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salaharja rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and DeVayne cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
DeVayne dives in and scores a takedown into Salaharja's guard.
DeVayne throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
DeVayne landing with the ground and pound.
DeVayne is looking to work some ground and pound but Salaharja has wrist control.
DeVayne prevents Salaharja from getting back to his feet.
DeVayne wants to control from the top but Salaharja keeps moving.
DeVayne trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DeVayne ducks under a wild hook from Salaharja.
Salaharja misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Salaharja swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and DeVayne moves into the clinch.
DeVayne makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
DeVayne misses with a knee strike.
DeVayne is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Salaharja is defending well for now.
DeVayne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
DeVayne closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
DeVayne lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Salaharja or not.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeVayne using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Salaharja has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

DeVayne's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

DeVayne turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and DeVayne manages to end up in side control.

DeVayne has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
DeVayne looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Salaharja with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

DeVayne is looking to pass into half guard but Salaharja pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Salaharja is in guard.
DeVayne wants to get back to his feet but Salaharja is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Salaharja wants to stand and escape but instead DeVayne has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
DeVayne stops Salaharja from standing up.
DeVayne drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Salaharja manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now DeVayne has Salaharja in his guard.
