Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, BJ Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bo Hickson!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hickson scores with a sloppy right hand. Chavez should have avoided that one.
Hickson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Chavez.
Hickson pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Chavez back to the cage. Hickson follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Chavez tries to clinch but Hickson moves away
letting Hickson counter with a right hand.
Chavez moves in looking to clinch but Hickson pushes him off.
Chavez scores with a nice body kick.
Chavez moves to clinch but Hickson breaks away
enabling Hickson to counter with a crisp jab.

Chavez pushes Hickson up against the cage in a clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hickson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Chavez tries for a takedown but Hickson manages to get underhooks.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chavez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Chavez can't break the clinch.
Chavez can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Chavez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chavez successfully pulls guard.
Hickson stays in close to Chavez's body and controls the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chavez is pulling down on Hickson's head. It's preventing any offense from Hickson, at least for the moment.
Chavez continues to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
BJ Chavez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hickson stuffs the takedown.
A countering left hand to the body from Hickson misses.
Chavez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Chavez shoots for a takedown but Hickson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A jab from Hickson misses.
Chavez was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Chavez tries for a takedown but Hickson circles away easily
and Hickson counters with a left and a right that stings Chavez.
Hickson misses with a double jab.
Hickson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hickson works over Chavez's head and body with a nice combination.
Hickson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Chavez's hands.
Hickson throws a big shot that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters circle momentarily. Hickson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Chavez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Chavez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hickson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hickson uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Chavez lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hickson digs a good body shot into Chavez's ribs.
Hickson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Chavez needs to keep his hands up - Hickson had a free shot at his head there.


Chavez is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bo Hickson dominated that round.
That's time! Chavez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Chavez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hickson.
Hickson misses with a straight right.
Chavez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hickson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hickson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bo Hickson seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Chavez has a takedown stuffed.
Chavez closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hickson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chavez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hickson but Hickson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Hickson counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Chavez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chavez throws a leg kick
and Hickson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Oh Chavez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hickson lands with a nice combination. Chavez backs away looking to recover.
Hickson cracks Chavez with a hook to the temple - Chavez is on wobbly legs here! Hickson swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Chavez falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Hickson wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Bo Hickson!
